Who qualifies
This service is available to households that meet the requirements below. If you're not sure whether you qualify, call or text us. We'll walk you through it.
No cost to eligible households. Income and other requirements apply.
Household eligibility
Meet at least one- You are enrolled in Medi-Cal, or
- You receive public assistance, for example CalWORKs, CalFresh, SSI or General Assistance, or
- You can show income eligibility with check stubs or other income documentation.
Home requirements
All of the following- You own the home (homeowners only).
- It is a single-family home (single-family homes only).
- The home is over 5 years old.
- The home is in our service area: Bakersfield, Arvin, Shafter, Wasco, Delano, McFarland or surrounding areas.
What to have ready
To help confirm eligibility, it may be helpful to have one of the following:
- Proof of Medi-Cal enrollment, or
- Proof of public assistance (for example a CalWORKs, CalFresh, SSI or General Assistance notice), or
- Recent check stubs or other income documents for your household.
